Palad at Riihisaari Museum

The Riihisaari Museum in Savonlinna underwent a major renovation, which was completed in 2021. During the renovation of the surfaces, the furniture was also updated. The museum ordered ORTOBOX- and 23-tables from the Palad collection in addition to the benches designed just for them. Especially the hand-carved and impressive-looking new Penkki 2000 seats fit perfectly with the museum’s supporting structures, because they are made from the same material.

We made close co-operation with the museum and the benches were designed as custom-made for the Riihisaari Museum. Each Penkki 2000-seat was hand-carved with a chainsaw and made of demolished wood beams from the museum’s old structures that would otherwise have been delivered to the landfill.
