Palad is returning to Habitare for the second time, and this year we are introducing Veistos™ surface for the first time – a versatile and adaptable interior element made from rescued plywood. Also on display will be Palad’s innovative multifunctional tables.

We believe Finnish design can be bold, beautiful and sustainable all at once. Come say hello, talk design with us, and taste our “already world-famous sparkling pink rhubarb juice” or Japanese-inspired plum juice at our stand.

Kitchen Island´s Veistos™ 

When the client first saw the Veistos™ surface during a visit to the Palad Showroom, the idea for a custom kitchen island was born. The organic, three-dimensional surface left a lasting impression – and eventually became the centrepiece of the new home.

Custom-made in a light birch tone from rescued birch plywood, the Veistos™ surface was installed on the front of the kitchen island, bringing warmth, rhythm and sculptural depth to the space. Light and shadow move across the surface, turning the island into an eye-catching focal point.

The sculptural surface sits like a spatial work of art between the kitchen and living area, making the island a natural gathering point. Lighting was installed beneath the kitchen island countertop, with its warm glow bringing the Veistos™ surface to life.

Veistos™ | surface

Veistos™ is a unique surface material that combines the artist’s touch, an innovative digital carving method and recycled rescue birch plywood. Custom-made and versatile, Veistos™ can be used for large-scale surfaces as well as smaller details. The sculptural surface is available in two tones: a light birch tone that brings brightness to a space, and a burnt charcoal tone that adds depth.

Veistos™ can be used to create unique surfaces and furniture for homes, offices, hotels, cafés, restaurants and public spaces. The surface is also suitable for large-scale applications such as wall surfaces. Across larger areas, Veistos™’s three-dimensional design flows naturally from one panel to the next, creating a seamless and cohesive whole.

Veistos™ was developed as part of a project funded by the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment for Eastern Finland and the European Union. The project focuses on the innovative utilisation of material streams and the development of high-quality surface materials.

Yoga classes at Palad Showroom

You can now book a private yoga class with SaagaMaria Yoga at Palad Showroom. Private sessions are always tailored to your wishes and needs – whether your goal is to relax, open the body or boost your energy.

If you are looking for more energy and an invigorating practice, we can arrange an energising Yoga Flow, a Yoga and Pilates-inspired session, or a Barre-inspired class. For relaxation and opening the body, choose a gentle Yin Yoga practice, Candlelight Yoga or another calming and restorative session.
